February 19, 2016 – Linx, a Merlin, OR based developer and manufacturer of Internet of Things (IoT) Products and Solutions is pleased to announce its new Thread Border Router and Gateway. Linx will be showing its Thread-based Gateway and Border Router at Embedded World in Nuremberg, Germany, this February 23-25 at Booth 5-430 in Hall 5.
The Linx Thread Border Router and Gateway is a compact, high performance and cost-effective solution to bridge Thread networks to the cloud. It combines an IEEE 802.15.4 radio running the Thread protocol with an Ethernet interface. It manages all of the communications and protocols, so no software development is required.
Unlike competitive solutions, the system runs embedded firmware on an ARM microcontroller instead of costly microprocessors running bloated Linux-based operating systems. As a Border Router, it allows IPv6 direct addressability from the Internet; as a Gateway it allows traditional firewall traversal to device cloud services.
Next Generation Designs
Latest generation silicon provides best-in-class standard link budget (-110 dBm) and sufficient memory (512k flash) to run Thread and applications stacks effectively and efficiently. In addition, dual crystals provide highly accurate wake-up timing for sleepy end devices, This combination of excellent link budget, increased memory space and accurate wake-up timing make the Raven™ Platform a very attractive wireless solution..

Thread is a wireless protocol designed for the Internet of Things to simply and securely connect devices in the home to each other and the cloud.
